Jimmy Butler has experienced much success on and off the basketball court in recent years. With that success have come golden opportunities, from signing on as a Mountain Dew pitchman to receiving his own signature Air Jordan line. Now Butler is trying the world of luxury men’s briefs on for size, with the announcement coming last month that his own signature PSD Underwear collection will debut later this year.
PSD’s range of high end underwear certainly reflects the snappy dresser in Butler and his colourful personality. According to the Chicago Tribune, the fashion forward Butler was hands-on in the design process offering up his own ideas in the form of collection of photos and screenshots he compiled that he drew inspiration from.
“He’d say this is what I’m seeing, this is where I see an on-trend collection for myself. This is what represents what I like,” PSD president Curt Flaitz said.
One pair from Butler’s collection will highlight the Chicago scenery; another pair will feature a red and black theme in an ode to the Bulls’ colours.
Butler has been an equity stakeholder in the company for about a year, partnering with Chandler Parsons and Kyrie Irving (whose eclectic signature line released last year).
