As part of their #JustAKid campaign, last week POWERADE® launched a new commercial featuring Chicago Bulls superstar Derrick Rose and poetry by the late Tupac Shakur.
The original commercial (which you can catch it at the bottom of the page if you haven’t seen it already) released to much fanfare and coincided with the news that company spokesman Rose would require surgery after tearing the meniscus in his knee once again. Two days later the company released a second video which features D.Rose talking about his home town Chicago, the position he’s in, what Tupac meant to him, among other topics.
The black hoody seen worn by Rose at the end of the powerful commercial generated substantial interest across social media, leaving people wondering when the limited edition apparel would become available.
Well wonder no more, as the “Just a kid a from Chicago” hoody is now available at Justakidfrom.com and officially launches tomorrow.
POWERADE® is also offering those of you wanting to get your hands on the garment or one of the other three items on offer, the option to personalize your purchase by changing the text to represent where you come from.
All net proceeds from the sale of the apparel will go to support the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, so not only do you get to rock a cool piece of pop culture, but you’re also supporting a good cause.
So head over to the official site to get yours now and follow Powerade on twitter and facebook for further updates and promotions.
