In case you’ve been living under a rock, Jimmy Butler’s star has continued it’s meteoric rise this NBA season and now it’s headed for new heights with Butler making his big screen debut in Christmas comedy Office Christmas Party.
Thanks to the internet, we get a sneak preview of the Bulls superstar’s cameo in the Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman comedy. As a guest at the party, Butler trades in his Bulls uni for a snappy man-cardi and a pair of tie dye jeans for his scene with The Newsroom actress Olivia Munn. Other than chatting with Munn and signing a basketball for a mail room employee, not much else can be gleamed from the 45 second clip, but Butler does come across as a natural. We’re unsure if the budding thespian throwing a drink in the face of his co-star (and friend) was or wasn’t scripted, judging by Munn’s reaction and knowing Jimmy’s penchant for hamming it up, we’d lean more on the side of the latter.
In case you missed it, Butler also recently appeared in David Blaine’s latest television special “Beyond Magic, where the magician freaked him, Dave Chappelle, Drake and Steph Curry out with a bunch of frogs and he is currently appearing in Jordan Brand’s Space Jam XI marketing campaign with Clippers star Blake Griffin (and Bugs Bunny).
Forget LeBron James being in the starring role for Space Jam 2, we know who we want to see team up with ‘Hare’ Jordan to win back the basketball talents of his friends (a role perfect fit for Bobby Portis) from the Monstars once again.
